Close to transport and very easy to get to Kansai airport by rapid train. Good bedroom sizes for Japan. Buffet breakfast excellent.

The check-in is always pleasant. The breakfast buffet staff always works hard. The concierge staff is always accommodating.

On this trip we stayed in many Japanese hotels. This hotel is in a great location but the room was just OK. Overall this was the least satisfying of all our hotels. Here are some of our issues: * Breakfast buffet music way too loud and music selection horrible. I'm sure the goal is to get people to leave as soon as possible. It worked on us. * Insufficient room lighting. No USB power outlets. Only one power outlet at each bedside and one on the desk. * WiFi is behind a "captive portal" and no WiFi security. I was unable to connect though my VPN so for most of my stay I used cellular internet. * I needed a replacement card key and was cheerfully issued one at the front desk, but they failed to disable my prior card keys which I thought I lost on the street (within the little room number folder). The lost card keys were later discovered in the room, so I didn't lose them. The point is that if someone did find the card keys and folder they would have had everything they needed to get into our room and take our valuables. The only reason I know this is because I found the keys. Disturbing. * Card key not required in lift to get to guest room floors. * Safe didn't work. I reported this to the front desk but nothing was done. The safe would allow a code entry, but wouldn't lock, instead reporting "PILES" (batteries). It makes sense if the battery is weak that you wouldn't want to have your stuff locked in, but this was never resolved before our departure. * Not enough towels. We like to keep the sink area wiped down and dry. We need at least one more towel for that. * Tub was dangerously slippery for my wife. On the plus side: * Thermostat was easy to figure out and can be set in degrees C or F. Air conditioning worked well, but this was the first hotel we stayed in that lacked a humidifier. * Front desk staff have good to excellent English language skills.
Lounge was an oasis of calm and we enjoyed the food (breakfast and lounge snacks). Rooms were well appointed. Hotel was challenging to find initially since it was located in the train station.
Rated the hotel a 9 out of 10, the only drawback being it was a little difficult to find. There should be more street signage and a better description in the hotel's profile about how to access the lobby area. Other than that, a terrific place to stay within walking distance to the lively Shinsekai and Dotonbori eating and shopping areas.
