I have never encountered The Urban Experience before . I did not benefit from it in any way and fee it’s an unnecessary extra charge.

The location and accommodations were excellent. The staff friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Only thing detracting from the stay was the HEAVY PERFUMED lobby. I nearly gagged a few times as I was heading through to or from the elevator bank. Initially I had dismissed it as the conference I was attending has a history of hosting large groups of late teen, early 20s middle eastern students who wear too much Axe (or other) body spray. The noxious odor was quite similar. It was only upon noting the absence of that particular student group this year at the conference AND commenting that I learned the pulmonary assault in the lobby was intentional and property driven.

Overall a very good stay. Location was great. View (River, 32nd floor) was great. Right by the river and Riverwalk. Overall room was very nice and comfortable. Bed was comfortable. Room was a good size. Shower water pressure was great. Nice big desk and two chairs that my husband and I could both use when we had to catch up on emails. Had the amenities I needed. Allowed us to store our luggage after checkout on the last day while we did more sightseeing. Downsides: There was a little noise in the room pretty consistently, probably of a little loose part in a vent or machinery, but it was distracting and slightly annoying, particularly when going to sleep. The shower, though nice in other ways, leaked pretty badly onto the floor outside the shower, requiring an extra towel on the floor while showering. Expensive--though perhaps not more than is usual for Chicago in a good location.

The rooms were very dated including the bathroom. My first room with two double beds had a musty/old smell. I asked for a King room, which they granted me for an "upgraded" price of $65. Not impressed.
